A group of pigs recently caused havoc on a Virgina highway last week. The pigs escaped from the back of a trailer and ran onto the interstate.
Kelly Hannon, Virginia Department of Transportation spokeswoman, said her office received the report of the incident around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The hogs ran loose on I-95 in Spotsylvania County, 2 miles south of the Thornburg exit.
Witnesses of the incident captured video of the pigs navigating traffic. The driver of the trailer was cited for failing to properly secure the trailer.
Nearly all of the pigs were rounded up and returned to the trailer, however, one speedy pig managed to escape over county lines in Caroline before being captured. Police were forced to close down two lanes of traffic while attempting to wrangle the livestock, resulting in a 2 mile backup. https://youtu.be/5u1wEl-fSDE
