Nuns in Nepal Study Kung Fu

In Nepal, an order of nuns spend three hours per day studying kung fu--exercising physically, as well as spiritually.

The Buddhist Drukpa Order is the only order of nuns in the country that practice lethal kung fu. Their empowering fame comes from strict daily training, in which they learn to break bricks with their bare hands.

After earthquakes struck Kathmandu in 2015, these nuns and real life superheroes were able to help deliver supplies and aid to local villagers.

The nunnery also teaches self-defense classes for women and has biked over 14,000 in protest of human trafficking of women and girls.
