TODAY host Al Roker, with the help of 69 chefs and sandwich lovers, broke the Guinness World Record for most people in an online sandwich-making relay.
The long-running weather anchor hosted “Rokerthon,” a virtual event, on Thursday. Participants in the event included Jose Andres, Bobby Flay, Priya Krishna, Sandra Lee, Marcus Samuelsson, Andrew Zimmern, Elenda Besser, and Matt Abdoo.
According to the Guinness guidelines, each chef was tasked to create a unique sandwich, and complete it before the next participant began their sandwich.
“The mark to beat was 50 participants. Today, you have achieved 69. It’s a new Guinness World Records title,” adjudicator Michael Empric announced.
